I really wish I could find an LJ layout I liked for more than five minutes.

Anyway, that aside, look at all these open submissions here! I really want to write something for the Monster Mash anthology because that just sounds awesome fun, and I could maybe do a Shoregrave short? I'd also like to do something for the Silver Moon, Bloody Bullets one. I had this great idea about setting it during WWI trench warfare and tying it into my Urban Wolf novels, but then decided I couldn't do that in 2 - 5k, so it might have to wait.

But Monster Mash! The possibilities are endless! Look at that list - aliens, gorgons, dragons, vampires, banshees... I want to go home right now, put on Famous Monsters by the Misfits and write to the extreme.

I'm gonna spaz out and try to figure what I want to write. I want to do the Monster Mash one, but...but...NECROMANCY FUCK YEAAAAAAHHHH! I am possibly too excited about the prospect of giving my necrophiliac necromancer his own story that doesn't involve being turned into a mutant pterydactyl minion of Death. Better that than a creepy Scarecrow.

*cries* I have so much Other Stuff I need to be doing. Still. *bookmarks the hell out of everything*

Eeee, I know! I want to write one for the necromancy one too. My borderline alcoholic necromancer Ash demands screentime! And real old-fashioned necromancy with spirits and ghosts, not zombies! And absinthe and black candles probably, too.

But the Monster Mash one is really calling me... The possibilities are messing with my head. Aliens abduct a werewolf! Chaos ensues! A banshee predicts the death of a vampire! Everyone panics!

I'm all torn on Ye Olde Graverobbery Shenanigans (GOODTIMES! Specially when mysticism was trendy!), and something more modern and possibly gross, because when the guy who prefers to have sex with corpses tells you something is messed up, it's really messed up. OR POSSIBLY BOTH because Mal is a mysterious gentleman that does not tell anyone of his origins.

I'm flailing around trying to figure out what I want to dooooo for the Monster Mash one, and then eveyr now and then I have a record-scratch kind of pause becuase my favourite things aren't on the list. *shakes fist* I could have a ball with faeries and djinn. But! Future Dystopia beckons with genetic Frankensteins, fighting zombies, and all kinds of crazy.

Oooh, I want to put a Hand of Glory in there somewhere! (That sounds kinda wrong on reflection).

I reckon you can probably use monsters not on the list - Other monsters (non-traditional, of your own creation) are welcome as long as two or more traditional monsters are present.

I think djinn and faeries count under that rule!

The only thing to do with the wrong of a Hand of Glory is just roll with it. I wound up starting a story involving one (it's Important To Plot because resurrection is srs bzns and not exactly a good idea) "Hand Job."

My problem would be either I wind up with a monster convention with everything (including a possessed kitchen sink) or I'd try to keep it to two, only one of them would not be of the traditional kind of monster. I need to mull on it. Fortunately, there's plenty of time.
