...Anyone going to this? Even though I found the link in the Daily Mail (yes, my parents read the Daily Mail, but they're good people), I'm interested. Just as something else to add to my experience, it might be useful. And a day out in London is always fun.
Who's the self-published one? I have to say, having looked at the line-up, I only recognise one name, and I've never read her stuff. Might save my money and just go shopping instead.
AuthorHouse sponsor a lot of writing events, even stuff at respected conferences like the one in Winchester. I suspect that Sibson is on the panel only because AuthorHouse is paying the bills - but the rest of the panelists look kosher.
I've met Simon Trewin and he's lovely* (and one of the country's top agents, to boot), and having a senior commissioning editor on there bodes well. The price is about average for such events, considering it's in London.
I won't go, since I've been to similar things before, but if you've never been to a writers conference it might be worth it.
* I could be biased, since he asked me to send him my novel when it's finished!
I think I'll go along for the experience and the chance to mooch around London by myself. Even if I don't learn anything new, it's an opportunity to network.
