So yesterday, Kyle, Dave, and I packed up and headed to London for the MCM Expo, because we were all sick of sitting around in the dark in our house (well, mine and Kyle's house; despite outward appearances, Dave does not actually live with us) and decided a day of wandering around looking at anime stuff was the way to go. And it was awesome! We had some trouble finding the car park, and then we were a bit scared because it was empty and felt like a scene from a zombie film, so we ran around practising our screaming for a bit, just in case, and then we found the Expo, so that was okay.

My God. I was so underdressed. Within five minutes we'd seen more anime characters than I could possibly name, several Mario and Luigis, a bunch of Stormtroopers, and Pedobear. Dave was filming the whole thing, so we have some great footage of him interviewing the Stormtroopers about the death of Obi Wan Kenobi (they played along marvellously; it was like it had been scripted), as well as him being beaten up by several Deadpools and numerous people dressed as animals. And Pedobear. That was ... different.

They had a lot of new games being demo-ed (not, as advertised, Duke Nukem Forever, but maybe that was Saturday?), so we played and insulted many of them. There were loads of comic book artists around, who were great to talk to, and I picked up a copy of the Mountains of Madness graphic novel, and won another graphic novel called Survival Stories in a raffle, which looks pretty cool. We tried to get in to see the Cosplay masquerade ball, but time was against us, sadly. Still, there were enough people wandering around in anime costumes that it was kind of like being at a masquerade ball anyway. Vampire Knight was the popular choice, but there were several Gokus as well, which made me happy. Kyle bought a Buster sword and proceeded to spend the rest of the day nearly taking my eyes out with it.

But the highlight was meeting Billy West. Billy West! He was so lovely and cool. He signed a picture of Dr Zoidberg for me, then posed for a picture with Kyle and his sword. It pleases me greatly to be able to report that Billy West will not hesitate to pretend to stab you with a giant wooden sword if you ask him.

And then we drove around Cambridge for an hour looking for an open fish and chip shop, and then we came home and watched lots of UFC, which was nice. And today is a bank holiday, so yay! I have tons of writing stuff to do. I also have a surprise job interview on Wednesday. I think I'm being a bit crazy on the whole job front right now, but as long as I can keep paying the bills, I don't care. So we'll see what comes of that.
