Yasmin Stoker says: They say it's always raining in Shoregrave. That's not true. It only rains when you're there.
The Small World Guide says: Whilst Shoregrave might once have only been famous for being the country's "Deadliest City," nowadays it is quickly building a reputation as a hip, quirky tourist destination. Of course, the bloody history of the city still draws in the goths and poseurs, but the average traveller will find a welcoming and colourful holiday experience. For the sun worshippers, the beaches are clean and sun-soaked in the early spring. For music lovers, the Jacobite Quarter boasts a range of bars and clubs. If you are of the ghoulish persuasion, the city offers numerous ghost tours, and of course there is the infamous Marsh Prison, subject of the 2003 documentary Better Off Dead.
Visitors arriving in Shoregrave for the first time might not know where to start, but don't worry - The Small World Guide is here to help. We'll take you through the clubs, the restaurants, the shops, the hot spots, and the landmarks. From Padley Manor to Warped night club, it's all here. Welcome to Shoregrave.
