The Shoregrave Guide says: Technically speaking a type of demon, cambions are included here as they are known to interact more with the mortal world than their succubi and incubi parents. A cambion is the offspring of a human and a succubus/incubus, and are notoriously difficult to indentify as they appear to be stillborn at birth. Their human genes mean they are not truly immortal, as demons are, but their demonic genes do give them a greatly extended lifespan.

They are generally thought to inherit their demonic parents' ability to feed off sexual energy, but not to depend on it. Their human blood allows them to sustain themselves through mundane means as well as demonic.

Yasmin Stoker says: Emma is a cambion, half-human, half-succubus. The first - and last - man she slept with fell into a coma. He never woke up.
