Setting the Scene

I spent last night at Pip's, and there was much pizza, wine, jelly babies, and watching of the Scary Movie trilogy. I have to say the highlight of the evening was getting to sleep on a bed that wasn't propped up by a record box and a lot of hope. A solid bed that you could roll around on without risking total calamity. For those keeping track of my bed adventures (just me, then?) the story so far is thus: five weeks ago I got a new bed. One week ago, James broke it by jumping on it. Two days ago Tesco agreed to deliver a new bed free of charge, as well as refund me for the original one. So I'm getting a new bed and £140. Can't argue with that really.

Anyway, now I'm home and showered and ready to leap into SILVER KISS with gusto. I'll shortly be moving into the living room and putting on my Ayla/Shannon playlist to get myself in the mood. I really like having different music for different characters (it seems to be a common thing amongst writers); it's a good shortcut to getting me back into those characters' heads. This is a relatively short list compared to some I have (my Scarlett/Ash playlist is ridiculous). But it does the job. The other thing I really need to get into writing is a giant bag of M&Ms, but I'm resisting that and telling myself a nice cup of herbal tea will be just as good. Sigh. Where's Pip and her jelly babies when you need her?

Oh well. I'm determined to get a lot done today since I'm out to Salon Rouge tonight (I get to wear a mini top hat and a velvet dress and fishnets and paint my nails neon pink! OMG!) so enough of this nonsense! Time to work. *cracks knuckles*

That right there is a nice looking playlist, miss. I'm a little "AWW!" over Shakespear's Sister - I loved that song when it came out! I loved the vid with the girls fighting over the sleeping dude for his soul or whatever and was always rooting for the bad one.
