Kit Whitfield on Twilight

The fabulous Kit Whitfield has written a really fascinating post on Twilight, which I recommend everyone with any interest in the book of any kind goes and reads. As always, she's clever, eloquent, and persuasive, and gives plenty of food for thought. (Unlike me).

thank you for posting that! It was a fascinating read, and I'm sitting back thinking over what I'd like to comment on. The piece really made me think, and that's pretty cool.

I'm currently about halfway through (I keep reading and then writing and then going back to read) - and it's definitely an interesting and well-thought out article. The whole S&M aspect puts a whole other spin on the novels.

However, I still maintain that if Twilight were honest about these sorts of things, the narrative would be so much better and less "I want to punch Bella in the nose, maybe even the ear." but that's just me from a readerly perspective rather than actually trying to brain.
