Tearing your bed apart in the middle of the night: never relaxing.

So I had a very lazy, lovely weekend, mostly spent watching Firefly (why hadn't I seen this show before, dammit?!) and doing some editing for a friend. The editing part has given me some thoughts on critiquing that I might formulate into something coherent at some point, but since stacia_kane  is doing a whole summer series on critiquing, which will no doubt be far more useful to people than my ramblings, I won't hurry.

And then I went to bed last night and my bed collapsed. No, I mean really. This wasn't just the struts slipping out of place, this was wood freaking breaking. In half. Beyond the point of repair. Forever.

Now the bed is in pieces in the back garden, after a bout of temporary insanity on my part. I might have a bonfire later. In the mean time, I'm sleeping on the mattress on the floor, surrounded by the flotsam and jetsom that was under the bed. New bed is being delivered some time on Saturday, hopefully before the floor collapses underneath me, or something equally ridiculous.

I don't know! I mean, it just somehow completely passed me by. Luckily I'm now fully caught up and obsessed with Jayne waiting to see Serenity.

Jayne + Vera = OTP, I tell you. <3 And I am entirely in love with Inara's costumes. And all of Wash and Zoe.

We shall probably have to speak again after you've seen Serenity.

Meanwhile, you should get some marshmallows as you bid farewell to your former bed. Possibly even give it a "lo there I see my mattress." prayer or some such and sacrifice those marshmallows heartily. If nothing else, maybe the gods of sleep will keep wasps away from your cleavage. (I am now suddenly really glad that I was never bitten by the spiders I've had to fish out from between my boobs.)
