June 7th is a Hot Moon!
Queer Wolf, the first anthology from QueeredFiction is released in trade paperback. It's already available for pre-order on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, and if you love me, you'll totally buy a copy, because Wolf Strap is the opening story and rumour has it that it rocks.
But you can also win a copy direct from QueeredFiction just by going to www.queeredfiction.com/competition.htm and signing up for their newsletter. I know! It's so easy! Sign up before June 7th and you're in the drawing. Come on. You know you want to.
And just to tempt you, here's what people are saying:
“The debut anthology from James EM Rasmussen's QueeredFiction is an entertaining
and varied collection, boasting such talents as Charlie Cochrane and Ginn Hale. Lovers
of the lycan will find much to slaver over here: from the werewolf wanabee to the
lovers-through-time, to waifs and strays. From the carnal to the violent to the passionate,
this anthology will wag your tail, I guarantee it.”

“Overall, I enjoyed reading this anthology. There were a good range of stories from
authors who mostly did interesting things with what many people are calling a tired
genre. It was refreshing to see f/f stories amongst the m/m, and even more refreshing
was the consistently high quality of the writing from all the authors - even if some worked
better than others. I may have had some quibbles with plotting, but the writing itself was
excellent. I'm going to give this anthology a grade of 'Very Good' as I will definitely be
reading many of these stories again when I'm in the mood for something with a bit of
bite.”
Well Read
“Overall, and being totally honest, what surprised me the most about this anthology was the
diversity of the GLBT stories about werewolves because, let's face it, how many plots about lycans
can there be?? I was wrong because no two stories were the same, the authors' voices were all very
different, and the work, as a whole and individually, of good quality. Queer Wolf is, I think, a credit
to this first-time publisher.” (4 out of 5 stars)

“Mystery, romance and action are just some of the genres covered in this werewolf filled anthology.
Stories of prejudice, confusion and passion are just some of the feelings the authors have captured
to make this set of stories unique. Totally paranormal, fully urban and all queer this is a collection
of tales that will appeal to a lot of readers, gay or not.”

“As a collection, Queer Wolf works nicely together. There's a nice mix of all things werewolf/lgbt in
here: manlove, woman-on-woman, hereditary werewolves, werewolf bites, the occasional vampire or
demon, cross-dressers, sweet romance, erotic sex scenes, and all manner of taboo-breaking,
supernatural or otherwise. A number of stories had an entire pack of LGBT wolves, a safe haven for
werewolves of a "different" sexuality, which is an interesting idea. The broad variety ensures pretty
much everyone will find at least a couple stories they'll enjoy, and werewolf fanatics should consider
the collection a must-read.” (3.5 pints of blood)
Genre Reviews
“Even with my predilection for weres, I was a little worried at the sheer scale of the anthology ~ how
many different takes on werewolves can there be? The answer is, plenty ~ all the stories here are
different, distinct, and high quality.
In any anthology there will be stories that appeal more or less to each specific reader, but the
balance was in my favor with this collection, and even the stories I didn't personally enjoy weren't
poorly written.
[...]
Queer Wolf is a strong collection, and a very enjoyable read. I look forward to other anthologies in
this Queer Legends series.” (4.5 out of 5 stars)
Rainbow Reviews
“Queer Wolf does a terrific job of gathering suspenseful, romantic, and smart stories. On one hand I
was quite excited to have 17 stories in one book, but I was also worried I would be reading the same
thing 17 times. I am very happy to say, that is not the case. Although every story didn't work for me,
I must say all were unique and kept my interest. I highly recommend this collection.”
Smexy Books
“I probably wouldn't have read Queer Wolf if I hadn't been asked to review it [...]. That would have
been a shame, because this very well-done short story collection about queer werewolves was one
of the better paranormal anthologies I've read. ”
