Of Cats and Wolves
Jul. 6th, 2010 10:43 pm We appear to have acquired a house guest. A couple of weeks ago, we had the front door open and a cat wandered in, had a poke around, took a nap on the stairs and wandered off again. A few days later he came back, had some cheese, took a nap, and wandered off. Now he's a regular visitor, so much so that a couple of Sundays ago, he actually found his way up to the bedroom and napped there with me. Last night he invited himself in through the living room window, and stayed until about three in the morning, at which point he came upstairs to get all up in my face and demand freedom.
He's back again tonight, currently having a quick wash and contemplating my feet. I've no idea whose cat he is. He probably does this to several different families to ensure maximum food and affection. Dirty little cat tramp.
Anyway. BLOOD HUNT. Shannon and Ayla are preparing to visit the catacombs, and encounter some horror. I'm a bit worried about the pair of them, to be frank. I do not want to spend this entire book retreading the issues they had in SILVER KISS. It's inevitable that it will happen to some degree; BLOOD HUNT takes place only a few weeks after SILVER KISS ends, so there are going to be unresolved problems to deal with. But I don't want people to think this is all the two of them are ever going to do - whine and bitch and cry at each other. After all, they've been together a few years; surely they should already know the best and worst of each other? I guess this is the challenge in writing an established couple as opposed to a couple just getting together.

Not quite a thousand words tonight, but close enough I'm not going to beat myself up over it!

on 2010-07-07 08:56 am (UTC)Mind you, I'm one to talk: we only took in Jemima for the night, until we could find her real owner. Now we are her real owners; hell after you pay for spaying, inoculations, microchipping and all that food, you want to keep the damn cat!
