I don't know why it's slow. Possibly last night I was distracted by the twin blows of Matt Berry cancelling his London gig again* and realising I will never get my Mighty Boosh DVDs back. Or possibly the hideous din made by Tenacious D put me off. I'm sorry, I don't care how funny Jack Black supposedly is. I hate him and I hate his band.

(Just realised that sounded like Tenacious D were in my bedroom with me or something. They weren't; they were on TV. Just as bad, frankly.)

Anyway, I'm really excited about writing the next scene - Ethan gets an exorcism! Or does he? - so I'll be ploughing on tonight regardless of Tenacious D.

18254 / 30000 words. 61% done!

*But I love him, so I'll forgive him.

PS - Oh, does anyone want a copy of The Sweet Scent of Blood by Suzanne McLeod? I started it over the weekend but just can't get into it. For some odd reason I can't get it added to my Bookmooch inventory, so if anyone fancies it, leave a comment. I'm happy to post it to wherever.

I read it all the way through, but still would only give it three stars. At best. Just did not work for me at all, and I'm secretly pleased to learn that the problem isn't just me if the book didn't work for you, either ;-)

I got about 100 pages before I realised I had no idea what was going on, and wasn't bothered about finding out. I think I've fallen into a reading malaise since finishing Embers though - I started a romantic fantasy last night and abandoned that after the prologue. Typical alpha asshole hero, tarring everyone with the same brush because of one bad experience, etc...

I'm starting the Forest of Hands and Teeth today and hoping for good things!

I'm reading Embers now, so I can relate :-)

Took a break from it to read Susan Beth Pfeffer's This World We Live In. Finished it just a few minutes ago - just brilliant. I loved it. But I need more closure, damn it...

Have read The Forest of Hands and Teeth, and can report that I very much adored it. Hopefully you will, too :-)

I'll give the book a home. I may not get to reading it for a while, but it'll have a nice place on a shelf.

Fab! Just resend me your postal address (I filed it away too neatly and now can't find it...) and I shall send it to you post-haste!

Four chapters in and hooked :) Everything's better with zombies and suspicious cult-like religions!

Done! I know exactly how you feel; as soon as I clean and put things away, I can never find them again. I've lost five cds this way.
