  • 12:54:42: Apparently I look like a French poet today
  • 13:04:37: @AlexFayle I guess I look particularly cool and creative? If only I'd worn my beret to complete the illusion!
  • 14:15:07: Karina Fabian is talking zombies at my blog today! http://naomi-jay.livejournal.com/341037.html
  • 14:56:27: Someone needs to write an etiquette guide for chasing emails. Two weeks since I emailed editor about Wild - too soon to start chasing?
  • 14:57:00: My dad thinks I should be sending reminder emails already but I'm worried about coming across as one of Those Authors
  • 15:19:49: @AnneLyle @AcidAmoeba I'm forcing myself to wait until after Christmas, but every spare second I have, I'm obsessing! It's unhealthy
  • 15:22:58: @AnneLyle Ooh, good point! *goes to investigate*
  • 15:32:50: @AnneLyle Bah, no blog or twitter that I can find. My cyber-stalking attempts have failed!
  • 17:25:55: I'm so glad my surname isn't Ploog
  • 20:11:09: Oh yay, found a documentary on ancient astronauts and aliens! Apparently aliens dropped atomic bombs on India once upon a time
  • 20:15:30: Apparently the Bible contains proof of aliens visiting ancient mankind. Can't wait to see this...
  • 20:23:08: So, apparently Lot's wife was the victim of an ancient atom bomb. Where are the aliens in this documentary anyway?
  • 20:29:02: Ah, Noah's ark was a DNA bank for aliens! Why? Well, that's not important
  • 20:29:15: Aliens just need plants and animals, okay?
  • 20:31:51: No, I don't think inserting aliens into the Bible will help my understanding of Christianity at all, Mr Narrator
  • 20:43:38: So apparently all medieval art contains UFOs. All those angels and halos? Aliens. Fact.
  • 20:44:51: Also, the Black Plague was created by aliens to eradicate human beings for no reason
  • 20:47:48: How can we possibly know about alien visitations that happened before recorded history? By definition, such visitations are not recorded!
  • 20:57:59: Oooh, the official records of the Spanish Inquisition have the dirt on ancient aliens! Because testimony acquired under torture is the best
  • 21:03:09: @yolandasfetsos Lol, a documentary called Ancient Aliens. It's... fascinating
  • 21:03:23: @K8JohnsonAuthor Yes. Send me one immediately
  • 21:08:08: @yolandasfetsos Lol, yeah, but apparently they were around for Columbus, WWII, and the Black Death! Not to mention the birth of Jesus
  • 21:08:35: @yolandasfetsos Ha, no, but aliens did destroy ancient Indian towns
  • 21:17:36: A delicate application of red wine is making this documentary even more entertaining!
  • 21:22:47: @yolandasfetsos A delicate application of red wine makes so many things better!
  • 21:24:36: On the other hand, the delicate application of red wine has rendered me unable to think of a way to finish this scene #amwriting
  • 21:36:05: Well, I hit my 1k target for Night and Chaos for the day, so I suppose I'll just call it a win and finish my wine
  • 21:46:59: Was left in charge of cooking. Put lamb chops in oven, Twenty minutes later discovered I hadn't turned the oven on...
  • 21:48:38: @AlexFayle That's going to be my excuse too! Luckily there's plenty of wine to distract people
  • 22:26:42: Aw, I've been forced to swap the alien documentary for South Park. Now I'll never know how aliens buried the Ark of the Covenant in Canada
  • 22:29:26: @LABurtonhorror But I like cookies!
  • 22:50:45: Oh yay, Chris Titus stand-up!

I can't believe I didn't blog about this before! I love giant things!

Giant fossil bird found on Hobbit island! What's not to love?

I have to say, the idea of a giant stork hunting and eating people is both awesome and whacked-out. It reminds me of how much I want to write a story with prehistoric shapeshifters, creatures from the Cenozoic period - sabre-tooth tigers, giant carnivorous birds, hornless rhinos, mammoths, and oh my God, obviously megalodon! I want to watch Walking with Beasts so much right now. I've completely over-stimulated myself.

I think I should be able to do this without much trouble since I predominantly read UF, and I would like to read more horror. And I want to start reviewing more books. So far this year I've intended and failed to review Stacia Kane's Downside books, Suzanne Collins' Mockingjay, and Tabitha Suzuma's Forbidden - all amazing books that I wanted to talk about but never got round to. Le sigh.
