Oct. 29th, 2009 02:01 am- 10:24:18: Seeing a lot of upcoming books referred to as "urban fantasy romance." Not really sure what that is...
- 10:25:25: Obviously it's meant to be a different subgenre to paranormal romance, but I kind of feel UF and Romance are on different wavelengths
- 10:26:05: Romance = HEA. It's the key rule of the genre IMO. UF = usually ongoing series and more about the heroine/hero's individual journey
- 10:26:54: Clearly you get romances in UF all the time, but that's different, right?
- 10:32:24: @yolandasfetsos Lol, that often seems to be the case! I can think of a few UF novels that have almost no romance though. Amazon Ink, frex
- 10:33:13: Jessa Slade says paranormal romance is diverse enough now to need sub-subgenres
- 10:33:29: http://bit.ly/2RFj4t
- 10:39:57: @yolandasfetsos It's a good "fusion" genre - room for romance, horror, mystery...
- 11:10:04: @etaknosnhoj Also agree on the subgenres! As far as Urban Fantasy Romance, would have thought the angst levels of UF in general...
- 11:10:28: @etaknosnhoj ... make it difficult to supply a HEA. Especially as a lot of UF tends to be ongoing series
- 11:36:31: @etaknosnhoj Maybe. Hadn't thought of it that way. I may have to investigate further...
- 12:47:39: @RebeccaJPayne Yay Haynes! Can't wait to read it!
- 15:27:27: @RebeccaJPayne Lol, yes!
