Johnny Can't Read and Johnny Can't Write

I've come to a sticky plot point in SILVER KISS and realised I need to rewrite a big chunk of two chapters to get myself unstuck. Since I've got the day off work tomorrow (to wait for the new bed, yay!) I'm going to work on it then. I know what I want to do, I just don't know where in the chapter I'm going to do it. I like the current version of the chapter - Ayla's been beaten up pretty badly and one of her alphas is blackmailing her. The trouble is, the blackmail material isn't particularly strong. It's not exactly the sword of Damocles over Ayla's head, more like the butter knife of ... I don't know ... Cassandra (seriously, Cassandra? You could have tried harder to warn Agamemnon about the whole axe-murdering wife thing).

Anyway. I need something more powerful, and I've got it. But I don't know if it will still be powerful just dropped into the existing scene. I think it needs it's own scene. And the more I try to figure out where chronologically that scene should be, the more frustrated I get that I didn't just write it in the first time around. So I'm quitting for the night and watching Almost Famous instead.

In Cassandra's defense, she was also cursed so that nobody would believe her even when she was right. So she could have rented billboards all over the Aegean, and she'd still be dubbed that crazy hot broad from Troy. And, like, since she was his slave, I don't think that's the greatest motivation to try and stop the crazy axe-murdering wife. It's just that the plan didn't go so great when she got axe-murdered along with him. So maybe she spent a good part of her trip to the afterlife being all I TOLD YOU SO, ASS!!! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DRAG ME INTO IT ANYWAYS? SHE'S YOUR WIFE. I WOULDA BEEN HAPPY TO LEAVE WITH THE OTHER TROJAN REFUGEES, BUT NOOOOO YOU WANTED A BOOTY CALL.

Also, awesome on knowing what to do with the rewrite. Fingers crossed it works and your new bed is comfy.

I know, Agamemnon was a bastard. Admittedly not as much of a bastard as the movie Troy made him out to be (but then that whole film was just one big WTF?), but he certainly deserved his axe-murdering. I felt so bad for Clytemnestra. Not only did her husband kill her daughter, swan off to war for ten years, and bring back a sex slave when he did return, but then her remaining children killed her. She had the shittest time, man.

I thought Electra was a whiny little bitch who needed a slap. Especially in Euripides' version of the story where she spends two acts plotting Clytemnestra's death, then the third act wailing "PH NOES, THE GODS ARE MAD AT ME WHY?!!!" Like she didn't know murdering your mother might be seen as a bad thing. Sigh.

Anyway. Yeah.

Is that the three-hour Almost Famous I watched the other night on TV? Every scene had an extra bit I didn't remember! Although the radio interview with the stoned host should SO have made the final cut.

Lol, no worries. I shamefully confess that that was the first time I've seen Almost Famous, so I've no idea. But it did seem to go on for hours after I felt it should have ended, so...
