Silver Kiss - it begins! (but gets interrupted by maps)

947 / 60000 words. 2% done!

I'm not sure how long it will actually be at this point - it might wind up as a novella rather than a novel. It depends how much plot I can cram in.

I would have done more, but the Girton write-in fell apart last night when Becks found a road map from the 1930s and we spent the next hour looking for rude place names. You're never too old to laugh at the word "cock."

So...will you tell us the rude place names, please? :-)

Three Cocks, Cockburnspath, and Coxhoe were the favourites.

Ooh, silly place names in East Anglia. One of my favourite pastimes. I live near Six Mile Bottom and Duck End, I know of a Butt Lane, and of course the incomparable Ugley. There's a Titsey in Surrey, a Nether Wallop in Hampshire, but I think my personal favourite is American: Maggie's Nipples, in Wyoming. I would purely love to find out how that name came about!

Six Mile Bottom is a notorious area for speeding. And I used to live near a Butt Lane a few years ago - maybe it's the same one?
