See I have a few of my favorite characters who I consider a Mary Sue. Certainly a lot of Mercedes Lackey's characters are Mary Sue-ish and they're guilty pleasures for me. An example of a Mary Sue to me a bad one would be Elizabeth Haydon's "Rhapsody", there's a bad one if ever there was an overpowered sparkleepoo mary sue.
