Still no Ket

Apologies to my flist if my blog just becomes an endless series of updates on how Ket is still missing. We tidied the house from top to bottom today and still no sign of him. I've set up a box with a mouse in it that he could get into but not out of, and we're keeping the house cold except for the corner where the box is, hoping he'll head for the heat source. I am absolutely hating the idea of going to work tomorrow without knowing where he is. I guess the only consolation is that corn snakes are very hardy and can go for up to a year outside their tank without food, and that a lot of people find their snakes reappear months later, safe and sound. And that means Ket is probably not suffering anywhere near as much as I am right now.

Thanks! He's getting made into a purse if he doesn't show up soon!

Thanks, I'm really hoping he'll poke his little head out some dark corner before much longer.

So sorry about Ket. :( I hope he makes an appearance soon.

No apologies needed! He's part of your family and you talk about family, the good and the bad.

I just hope he shows up soon. It is comforting to know that he can survive so long outside of their tanks but you still want him home with you just the same.

Ket might very well be happy as can be right now, but that doesn't make it any easier on you.

I'm sure he'll get hungry and come looking for food eventually! Fingers crossed.

Exactly! I just have to trust that he'll get hungry sooner or later.

Thanks, fingers crossed and all that.

Oh noes, I am sorry hun, I hope that you find him soon!

Thanks, here's hoping!

Yikes! Hopefully he turns up soon. Chances are that, as you said, he's fine.

(Somewhat related: my sister had a sea snail in her fish tank once -- named Gary as in Sponge Bob -- that escaped the tank and miraculously survived outside of water for three days, before being found and returned to the tank. If Gary made it, I'm sure your Ket will come back to you safe and sound, too.)

Wow, that's a pretty hardcore snail! Gives me hope :)
